I absolutely love this place, every time I walk in there are friendly faces and new animals. They take care of their animals very well, and so far with every I have adopted, they have been healthy, happy, and bouncing with life. I will absolutely, adopt from this store once again.
I like this place because the workers are very friendly, but I feel as if the reptile and dog cages are too small. Also, we recently bought a female chinchilla and a cage for a cheap price, turns out she was pregnant and now we have two baby chinchillas. I love them to bits, but it would've been nice to know she was pregnant, as she's our first chinchilla.
I bought a kitten from them last week. She appeared healthy, but upon bringing her home discovered she had ear mites, fleas and diarrhea. She soon became very sick and stopped eating. We discovered she had panleukopenia which she probably caught while inside the cage with all the other kittens. This virus is deadly for very young kittens and is easily transmitted. While I do understand that they only 'visibly check' the kittens and do not do blood work, they didn't even visibly check her well enough! Her ears were loaded with mites according to our vet. She sadly passed away this morning after only 8 days with us.
As I walked in, I witnessed an employee grabbing a chin chillla by its tail and throat to show to a customer. Then I came across a guinea pig who I believe has mites and looked as if it was suffering. Next I saw dozens of tanks with at least 30 mice in each tank, some and had just born and they were being stepped on by other mice. Lastly, I saw one mouse eating another mouse. When I told an employee about it she seemed to not care very much and replied as if it happens all the time. I'm very disappointed in how they are treating these animals here and will never shop here again.
They seem like dont care about there animals they have a big lab pup in a small cage and it can barely move. Sick animals dogs cane from Puppy mills. And had kennel cough and goop from there eyes. And there fish tanks were green. And dirty cages. And 8 boa constrictor in a 10 gallon fish tank. I worked in a pet shop and this is no place to shop. And they need proper training because they don't know what they are talking about when it comes to the animals. So they need better employees instead of kids who just work there. Hire knowledgeable people. Because I am telling everyone I know not to shop there. Because they give false information about how to take care of the pets.
