Service was non-existent we stood by the door for a few minutes. Nobody acknowledged us. Nobody told us where to sit. We found our own booth. We sat for 10 minutes. I know it was 10 minutes because I checked the time. The waiter walked past us many times. We never got a menu, so I went and got them myself. After 5 more minutes without being visited by any waitstaff, we left. The wait staff acts like you're in their way. I ate there once before and the service was similar. The food was substandard then, but today I tried to give them another chance. I will not try again.
Our 2nd visit. We had extremely good service the first time and very good service the second time. The food was very good on both visits. I recommend Dayton's for your next home-cooked meal.
Great place for breakfast ,lunch or dinner. Specials everyday. Roast chicken & stuffing with turnip greens and yams. Friend or broiled Trout with turnip greens and yams. Great choices. Great prices. Enjoy
For a traveler on the road, this is a spot worth seeking out. A friend and I stopped for a quick breakfast and enjoyed one of the best meals of the weekend with the friendliest waitress...felt like mom was taking care of us! My bacon and cheese omelet was packed with cheese and bacon, coffee and tea were promptly refilled, and directions were cheerfully given. On the way out, we noticed the awards they've received hanging on the wall. They're well deserved!
My husband and I stopped by at around 1 pm yesterday. There was no wait. We stood by the door for a good five minutes before asking the hostess- who was "busy" talking to a friend and didn't bother to greet us- if we needed to wait to be seated, or if we seat ourselves. She said, "I don't know." What do you mean you don't know? So, we decided to try to find a seat. All of the tables were either dirty or reserved. Nobody tried to help us. So, we left, and had a wonderful lunch at Fratelli's- where we were actually greeted and seated properly.
