I had my first and last roaring eye appointment with this facility. Upon walking in to their front door I knew it was going to be bad. The lady behind the counter was not kind or welcoming, she seemed peeved that I was talking to her so I could check in. Once checked in I had to wait another 45 mins after my allotted appointment time. When It was finally my turn a lady came to get me ( I say a lady because no one bothered to introduce themselves or what they were, even who I'm assuming the doctor was) all she did was complain that I had my contacts in and that she was having such a bad day.... then with the whole counting thing 1 or 2... 3 or 4.... I have really bad eyes and she insisted on getting aggravated and telling me that "well you should be able to see that". Really! I'm pretty sure I know what I can and can not see, anyways once the crabby lady that was having a bad day left I'm assuming the next person was the actual eye doc. Never introduced himself or said hello, just came in and told me to sit back... how rude. Anyways I will never go back there and I hope that this review helps someone.

I went in for an appointment, had an eye exam, and asked if I could bring my frames in sometime next week being that I had forgot them at home, and was told that was fine. One week later, I took my frames in and was then told by an employee I was not allowed to have lenses put into my own frames. After explaining what I was told when I had previously came in, I requested to speak to the supervisor, shortly after the lady I was speaking to randomly walked away. I waited about 5 minutes, and inquired from the front desk if anyone was following up on my request to see the supervisor. The same employee then came back and told me, bottom-line they will not take my frames and that is it. I asked her if she was the supervisor, but was told no, but she was to relay the message. I told her I didn’t understand, I requested to speak to the supervisor, if she was busy I could wait. The employee refused to allow me to speak to her, and once again simply walked away without saying anything.

Both ladies I spoke to said to me, “I am not going to argue with you,” which to me was very hostile and offensive, since I spoke to them in the most professional manner. There were about 15 customers in the waiting area, and I am sure they were all listening in, which hopefully would allow them to see the lack of professionalism and care they have for their customers.

By the way, both times I was there, I overhead about five customers struggling with picking a pair of eyeglasses; an individual even said to himself “I’m only using them for reading, I’m only using them for reading.” One should have a choice on what frames they choose to wear, it’s already bad enough having bad eyesight.

The supervisor finally came out, I explained the situation; communicated that in my experience I have never had an ophthalmologist refuse to take frames I had bought elsewhere, the fact I was never informed of their policy, I confirmed I would bring my own frames just a week ago with one of their employees, and that in my opinion it is not professional to not disclose or inform your customers/potential customers of significant policies.

Being that my husband is active military, I have my share of experience with searching for new services. I’ve had optical eyeglasses for 10 years, thus my review on this business is to be constructive criticism in order to give customers/potential customers the opportunity to be served honestly, with full disclosure.

Thankfully I called Chesapeake Eye Center and they were more than willing to help me out. I went over right away and without a hitch was provided great service.

Dr. Ospital gave me my sight back and the facilities and staff made the procedures quick and painless. I would highly recommend this facility and the doctors associated with Peninsula Eye Center.

I requested to speak to the owner/s or contact information, in order to file a complaint. I was given a complaint for after asking three times (and continuously saying please and thank you), as I was stared at. As I was filling out the complaint for, the supervisor decided to stand about three feet away from me and stare as I filled out the form.
